About the Course:
Generic Syllabus – 10 half-day
Management Consulting is a promising career for graduate students across fields like business, engineering, and basic sciences. It offers challenging work, self-development, valuable networks, and financial rewards over time. This course is designed to help graduate engineers explore and prepare for a consulting career, led by an experienced Fellow Certified Management Consultant (FCMC) and professional engineer with 35 years of industry experience.
The Global Management Consulting Industry has grown in size and complexity particularly since the early 1990’s. Although there are many small niche firms, the industry is dominated by a relatively few very large global organizations that practice in a variety of business settings and business disciplines. In addition many businesses have developed internal consulting organizations to provide consulting related services within the organization and often in conjunction with external consulting services offered by third party firms.
The curriculum covers various practice areas, including Strategy, IT, Marketing, HR, Operations, and Engineering. Participants will work in teams on a management consulting project aligned with industry needs, in collaboration with external partners. Additionally, students will create a personal blueprint and business plan for a consulting venture, exploring emerging fields like life sciences, data analytics, cyber security, and digital strategy.
