  • Systems Development and Implementation at a Commercial Aircraft Manufacturer – For a division of the world’s leading commercial aircraft manufacturer, implemented a Systems Development Methodology (SDM) by coaching management consultants and client staff. The SDM was used to develop a requirements definition, systems design and implementation of a CAPP, event tracking, BOM, routing and MRP systems.
  • Development and Implementation of an MRP II Training Program at a Building Products Manufacturer – Assisted in the development of an MRP training program for the Panosophic MRP II (PRMS) System. Trained the trainer and coached in developing the training material and implementation. This resulted in significant improvements in morale and effectiveness throughout the company. The program was originally developed for the Process and Quality Engineering department.
  • Group Technology Implementation at an International Electrical Equipment Manufacturer – For an international electrical equipment (Switchgear) manufacturer conceived and implemented a parts coding and family classification system based on group technology principles integrating engineering families, manufacturing processes, tooling, N.C. programs, and MRP System data. Group codes were developed for purchased parts, manufactured piece parts, sub-assemblies, major assemblies and raw materials . Resulted in savings of approximately $200,000 per year, reducing need for three process planners, one N.C. programmer and one draftsman due to the ability to automatically retrieve standard routings and designs from the MRP (Honeywell), and CAD (Computervision) Systems, and modify if required. Engineering families gave the company the visibility and methodology to lay out the factory toward cellular manufacturing, reducing lead time for parts manufacture. This was a sheet metal fabrication environment.
  • MRP II Implementation at an International Electrical Equipment Manufacturer – For an international electrical equipment (Switchgear) manufacturer assisted with the implementation of a MRP II (Honeywell Manufacturing System) system. As a project leader set up work centres, routings, administration centres, tooling files, product structures, lead times, ordering parameters, shop floor paperwork/control. Conducted a pilot project to perform acceptance tests and identify systems enhancements.
  • Development of MRP System Procedures at an International Electrical Equipment Manufacturer – For an international electrical equipment (Switchgear) manufacturer developed a production and operations management procedures manual based on MRP System functionality. This manual formed the master reference guide for all areas of the company to perform day to day work. Areas covered included MPS, MRP, CRP, SFC, BOM/Routing, Production Planning, Purchasing and Order Entry.
  • MRP II Training Program Development at an International Electrical Equipment Manufacturer – For an international electrical equipment (Switchgear) manufacturer developed a training program on the MRP system and trained all company employees at the conceptual and detailed level on system functionality (Honeywell Manufacturing System). Modules included Master Production Scheduling, Material Requirements Planning, Manufacturing/Engineering Data Control, Inventory Management, Capacity Planning, ShopFloor Control. Involved the design of training manuals and utilizatio of video tapes from the Oliver Wight Corporation and the FORUM group.

  • MRP II Training Program at a Large Regional Aircraft Manufacturer – Developed and implemented a training program on ERP/MRP II for the entire 5000 employee company. This was to prepare to implement the COPICS System. Coached the client personnel to perform the training.
  • Assisted Aircraft Landing Gear Manufacturer Re-implement an MRP II System – Working with the VP Finance, the Manager MIS, and the Manager Production Control developed new operating procedures for the INFOFLOW MRP System. Established the procedures around business process architecture. Identified the training requirements for the procedure. Resulted in the decision to keep the system for its satisfactory use. Inventory Accuracy was at 99%, BOM and Routing Accuracy at 98%, and on-time delivery of landing gear was at 100% after 12 months.
